SLC lifestyle scene for younger couples — are we too young at 25?
We're both 25 and curious about the lifestyle. We live in Sugar House and feel like every couple we see on the apps is 35+. Are there younger couples in the SLC scene? Will we feel out of place?
Best Answer
You're not too young at all! The SLC scene does skew a bit older on average (early 30s to mid-40s is the sweet spot), but there are definitely couples in their mid-to-late 20s. Sugar House is actually a great area for it — younger, hipper, and close to downtown. A few things to help you connect with your age group:
- The Sanctuary events — Their EDM and dance-focused nights tend to draw the younger crowd.
- Lifestyle apps with age filters — Set your age range and you'll find other 20-something couples.
- Utah's transplant population — A lot of 20-somethings are moving to SLC from bigger cities and they bring a more open-minded attitude. These are your people.
- You won't feel out of place — The lifestyle community is one of the most age-positive spaces you'll find. A 25-year-old couple and a 45-year-old couple can have an amazing connection. Age matters less than energy and chemistry.
Don't let the age thing hold you back. Most of the couples we know started in their late 20s and wished they'd started sooner.

We started at 26 in SLC and are now 29. You'll be fine. The younger crowd tends to find each other quickly on the apps and at Sanctuary events. We formed a small friend group of 4-5 couples all under 30 within our first few months. The older couples are also great — some of our best experiences have been with couples 10+ years older who have more experience and are amazing at making you feel comfortable.
